Individual counselling sessions
Counselling may be seen as being for people who ‘need help’
or have experienced deep trauma.
Whilst this is true, counselling can also be a tool to help you understand your life better,
help you to find meaning and create a deeper sense of self.
It is not always easy to know how many therapy sessions will be helpful until we begin. Once we have had our initial session and I understand a little more about what may be going on for you, we can decide together whether short-term or longer-term therapy feels right.
It is up to you what you choose to bring to therapy and where we begin. Your therapy is yours to shape, and we can work together at a pace that feels right for you.
What to expect in the first session
I understand that you may feel anxious before your first session, and I will work with you to help you feel as comfortable as possible.
During our first session, I will ask you some brief questions about your history, experiences and current circumstances. This will help me begin to understand you and what you are experiencing, and build a picture of how we might work together.
How much does it cost?
Each counselling session will cost £85. Sessions last for 50 minutes and will take place once a week at a fixed time, which is agreed in advance. I offer a limited number of sessions at a concessionary rate - please contact me to discuss this further.
I recommend starting with a minimum of ten sessions, giving you the time and space to explore what brought you to therapy and begin to understand what you may need from it.
I work both online (Zoom) and in-person. I hold face-to-face sessions at Therapy Space East in Shoreditch and Camden Therapy and Aashna in North London.
I am registered with Axa, Aviva, Bupa & WPA and welcome any clients wishing to use their health insurance for sessions.
